Terms
These terms apply to reservations made directly with Luzia, a surf and wellness hotel at Calle Mango, Playa Guiones, Nosara, 50206, Costa Rica. Bookings are made with Luzia Travel LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.
Rates
- Non-Refundable: paid in full at booking. Not refundable, changeable or cancellable.
- Flexible: free cancellation until 30 days before arrival.
Rates are quoted per room, per night, in US dollars, and cover the room only.
Payment
A valid payment card is required to confirm every reservation.
- Non-Refundable: the full amount is taken at booking.
- Flexible: the card is held and charged before arrival. We tell you when it is charged.
If a card is declined, the reservation is held for 24 hours while we contact you, and may be released after that.
Card details are entered directly into our payment provider’s secure fields. Luzia does not receive or store full card numbers.
Cancellation
- Flexible: free more than 30 days before arrival. Charged in full inside 30 days.
- Non-Refundable: charged in full at any time.
Failure to arrive without cancelling is treated as a no-show and charged in full.
If we ever have to cancel a confirmed reservation, you are refunded in full, whichever rate you booked.
Changes to a booking
Dates and rooms on the Flexible rate can be changed subject to availability, with any difference in rate applied. Write to us and we will make the change. Non-Refundable reservations cannot be changed.
Arrival and departure
Check-in begins at 2pm and check-out ends at 11am. When the day allows, we may be able to welcome you earlier, or let you stay a little longer. Please let us know in advance.
Who can stay
Each room has a maximum occupancy, shown at booking. Book enough rooms for everyone travelling with you; additional guests cannot be accommodated on arrival.
Children aged 6 and over are welcome. Younger children may be possible, and extra beds may be available. Both are by arrangement, so tell us who is coming before you book.
Luzia can accommodate service dogs, arranged with us in advance. We are not otherwise set up for animals.
You are welcome to receive visitors. You remain responsible for the conduct of anyone you bring onto the property.
Costa Rican law requires us to keep a register of everyone who stays. Those details are collected before arrival, through online check-in.
On the property
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
There are a small number of parking spaces on site. They cannot be reserved and are subject to availability.
The pool is not supervised and is used at your own risk. Children are the responsibility of the adults they are travelling with, at all times.
We may charge for damage beyond ordinary use, and we may end a stay where conduct puts other guests or our staff at risk.
Independent operators
Luzia is home to a restaurant and juice bar, a surf club and a yoga studio. Each is a separate business, with its own team, hours and terms. Guests are warmly welcome at all of them. Nothing they offer is included in the room rate, and none of it is booked through us. We are glad to make the introduction.
Your belongings
We are not responsible for loss, theft of, or damage to personal belongings. Items left behind are held for 30 days and returned at your cost.
Taxes
Stays are subject to Costa Rican value added tax at the rate in force. The total, tax included, is shown before payment.
If something makes the stay impossible
Neither of us is liable for failing to perform because of events outside reasonable control, including natural disaster, government action, mandatory evacuation, pandemic, or the closure of international airports.
If we cannot honour a reservation for one of those reasons, everything you have paid is refunded in full.
If you decide to cancel because of weather, travel disruption or personal circumstance while we are open and international airports are operating, the usual cancellation terms above apply.
Governing law
These terms and your booking are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, where the property stands and where your stay takes place. Nothing here limits any rights you hold under the consumer laws of the country you booked from.
